Lakeview Village Development Passes Another Milestone With Development Approval

Today, Mississauga Council endorsed the Lakeview Development Recommendation Report, reaching an important milestone in the development of the 177-acre site, formerly the Lakeview Power Generating Station lands, located in Mississauga’s Lakeview community. The staff report supports the draft plan of subdivision, rezoning and Official Plan amendment applications, and establishes the land uses for the site.

“We’re one step closer to transforming our waterfront into a world-class destination rivalling Stockholm, Chicago and San Francisco,” said Mayor Bonnie Crombie. “Our waterfront will attract a new generation to Mississauga with liveable, walkable communities connecting the lakeshore from east to west. Parks, open spaces and easy access to the water have defined our vision. From a cultural district with spaces for artists to showcase their work, to an Innovation Corridor with over 9,000 highly-skilled jobs, the Lakeview Development will revitalize our city. Not only will it be an ideal place to live and work, it will also become a tourism destination with views like no other, boasting the longest pier on this side of Lake Ontario.”
