Mississauga Attends the International Paris Air Show

Last month, Mayor Bonnie Crombie and members of our Economic Development Office (EDO) attended the world’s largest aerospace exhibition event – the International Paris Airshow.  Aerospace companies and manufacturers use this event to present their latest innovations to the world. Being in attendance at the show was a key opportunity for Mississauga to showcase our innovations in aviation and attract global investment. Our team met with international aerospace companies to promote Mississauga as a prime destination for investment and seek trends in aviation and space technology.

Mississauga’s aerospace manufacturing sector grew by 61 per cent from 2011-2016, making it the fastest growing aerospace sector in Canada. Our highly diversified sector supplies some of the world’s largest original equipment manufacturers, such as Bombardier, Boeing, and Airbus. In fact, every part of a plane is touched by a Mississauga company!

Mississauga’s aerospace industry is world-class with diversified capabilities and equipped with leading edge technology. Our attendance at the world’s largest air show, truly speaks to the connectivity in our aerospace ecosystem.
