The City of Mississauga is seeking input on an incentive program that will help transform a former industrial area along the waterfront into an innovation campus. The Lakeview Innovation District, part of the 177-acre Lakeview Village development, will become an employment hub where people can research, test and develop solutions in state-of-the-art offices, flex-offices and lab spaces. Specifically, the plans for the District are to leverage the site’s rich historic legacy and bolster local industry strengths by:
- Supporting a mix of flexible office, institutional, educational and innovation uses
- Accommodating over 1.5 million sq. ft. of employment space across 12 to 14 buildings
- Creating up to 9,000 highly-skilled jobs in research and the development of innovative solution
The City is currently working on developing a Community Improvement Plan (CIP) to help bring the Innovation District to life. It could include incentives to encourage uses such as:
- clean technology, including low carbon technology
- life sciences, and
- information and communications technology
The City is seeking your help to understand how it can kick start the Innovation District. Your responses will help inform the Lakeview Innovation District Community Improvement Plan (CIP) and related incentives. Help shape the CIP by taking the online survey by April 21, 2023.
