On January 29th, 2019 I attended Mayor Crombie’s state of the City Address delivered to the Mississauga Board of Trade business community.  During her engaging presentation, the Mayor spoke of the tremendous success the City saw in 2018 as well as some of the projects, initiatives and announcements in store for the coming year.

I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge some of the significant wins our Economic Development Office saw as a result of the hard work and productive partnerships we have fostered with Mississauga businesses.

In 2018, we saw significant investments from Cognizant, Glaxo Smith Kline, Bombardier and SOTI. Innovative Mississauga businesses like Zebra Technologies continued to help organizations respond to the challenges of keeping up with the speed of business. While companies like Hydrogenics, continued to develop technologies that power our world with zero emissions.

The City of Mississauga stands apart from other municipalities in our approach to business. We are attracting creative thinkers, innovators, influencers and entrepreneurs, who are helping us stay one step ahead of the competition.

To quote the Mayor, “Mississauga is working. We are on the cusp of something big. We are a place where people choose to live and work and where businesses want to invest and innovate. The future of Mississauga is truly unlimited. The possibilities are endless”.
