Supporting Pathways for Local Businesses to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Save Energy and Lower Costs


Program Overview.

The Mississauga Climate Leaders Program (MCLP) aims to support local private and public sector leaders committed to measuring and reducing their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and leading Mississauga towards a net zero future.

Delivered by the City of Mississauga in partnership with the Mississauga Board of Trade and Partners in Project Green, the MCLP will provide opportunities for local organizations to promote, develop and advance their sustainability goals through specialized support programs and events.

GHG Emission Reduction Plan Training
GHG Emission & Energy Efficiency Site Assessments

Attend Action-Oriented Workshops

Network with peers & subject matter experts and review local business case studies that address themes: GHG Reduction Opportunities, Employee Engagement and Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) Disclosure & Reporting.

Raise the Profile of Your Sustainability Intiatives

Share your success stories with the wider community through City platforms, including: City of Mississauga Climate Leader Spotlight, Business Newsletter & Social Channels

What We Offer.

The City of Mississauga is offering these program streams delivered by Partners in Project Green and Enviro Stewards. The MCLP is focused on supporting pathways for businesses to profitably undertake actions to reduce their GHG emissions and improve their environmental sustainability. 

Green House Gas (GHG) Emission Reduction Plan Training

Complete a customized training and support program developed and delivered by Enviro-Stewards that will help you create and implement a profitable plan to reduce your GHG emissions, save energy and improve your margins. Enviro-Stewards is a Certified B Corporation that has helped numerous companies profitably decarbonize and transition to carbon neutrality.

Participation fee is $1,500.

Deadline to apply is June 30th, 2023.


Green House Gas (GHG) Emission & Energy Efficiency Site Assessments

Partners in Project Green will lead a team of technical experts in a walk-through of your facility to identify actions your organization can take to reduce GHG emissions, save energy and lower costs. Upon completion, participants will receive a summary report identifying suggested actions and funding sources to support implementation.

Mississauga Climate Leaders Workshop Series

Coming Soon Sept 2023: Workshop #1 – GHG Reduction Opportunities: Explore GHG emission reduction opportunities across facilities, including low to no cost opportunities, as well as larger capital-intensive projects.

Coming Soon Dec 2023: Workshop #2 – Employee Engagement: Explore best practices for engaging employees in GHG emission reduction strategies.

Coming Soon Feb 2024: Workshop #3 – Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Disclosure and Reporting: Explore ESG disclosure and reporting frameworks and their relevance to sustainability strategies and stakeholder accountability.

Are you interested in learning more about the MCLP? Interested in a specific program stream? If so, please fill out the contact form on the left.

Please note: You will receive an email response acknowledging receipt of your completed form within two business days. There are limited spaces available for both the GHG Emission Reduction Plan Training and GHG Emission & Energy Efficiency Site Assessment programs. The City is targeting ten participants into each program stream. All applications will be assessed based on a number of criteria, including business size, industry and capacity to benefit from program.
